Bunsen Air

Renewable

Hot Water

With The Bunsen Air you could save up to 90% on your Hot Water Energy Bills & create Hot Water from as little as £0.13 per day

The Bunsen Air will create renewable hot water to supply your home. Designed to replace your existing heating system, this system can simply retro-fit to your current cylinder or be installed alongside a new cylinder.

This thermodynamic hot water system can simply retro-fit to your current hot water cylinder, or be installed alongside a new cylinder.

The system works on energy transfer and not solar power, and therefore works efficiently day or night, rain or shine! By using a refrigerant liquid with a boiling point of below -26 degrees we can harvest abundant amounts of free energy in all our atmospheric conditions, and transfer it to your hot water to heat your cylinder.

The Bunsen Air Eco Water Heater is a powerful and efficient solar hot water system that will work efficiently in even our worst weather. The system is fully automatic, and allows for advanced settings to be used for further energy saving functionality.

The Principles of

Thermodynamics?

The Principle of the Solamics Bunsen Air is to harvest the abundant free energy contained in the natural atmosphere and use it to create domestic solar hot water. This solar hot water system for your home uses a small amount of electricity to generate a large amount of renewable hot water.

THE BUNSEN AIR SYSTEMS TAKE FREE HEAT FROM THE AIR AND TRANSFERS IT TO HEAT YOUR WATER

Heats water to 55°C all year round

  • Works day and night 24/7
  • Low energy consumption
  • Outstanding thermal efficiency
  • Save up to 90% off your hot water energy bill
  • Reduce your carbon footprint
  • Add value to your home
  • More efficient than solar thermal systems
  • Can be retrofitted to any existing hot water system
  • Can be installed with a new hot water cylinder
  • Typically a one day installation

Benefits of a

Bunsen Air System

Compare the benefits of a thermodynamic system below:

  • Works down to -15c
  • Provides up to 90% of annual hot water
  • Works day and night 24/7, whenever you want it
  • Panel can be fitted on any roof or wall
  • Lightweight panel (under 8kgs)
  • Aluminium panel, durable
  • Can be fitted to a wall
  • Both sides of panel absorb energy
  • Sealed system with liquid refrigerant
  • No maintenance

Better than Traditional

Solar Thermal

With the specifications of a solar thermal system:

  • Won’t work at freezing
  • Provides up to 40% of annual hot water
  • Heats water when it’s least needed
  • Panels have to face south
  • Heavier panels
  • Panel with glass tubes, fragile
  • Installed on a roof
  • Less collecting area
  • Requires Glycol top-up
  • Annual maintenance

Bunsen

Panel

Within each hot water panel are specifically designed flow channels which optimise the flow of the refrigerant across the full surface area, while allowing for the refrigerant to heat up and expand.

Bunsen

Controller

The Bunsen Air is designed to replace your existing hot water heating system. It is not designed just to contribute, but to allow you to turn off your existing boiler, and let the Bunsen Air take over.

Bunsen

Cylinders

Modern cylinders now have exceptional insulation levels. In many cases it is highly recommended to consider upgrading your water cylinder to a modern unit to avoid unnecessary and expensive heat loss.

THE BUNSEN AIR CAN GENERATE 100% OF YOUR DOMESTIC HOT WATER SYSTEM NEEDS.

Bunsen Panels

The dual panels are mounted externally, ideally within 10 meters pipe-run distance of the Bunsen Air unit. There are options for the positioning of the panels:

Pitched roof – you may prefer to mount the panels on the roof to keep them out of the way.

Vertical Wall – there is no problem mounting the panels on any vertical wall

Flat roof or ground mounted – as long as there is a minimal pitch then the flat surface is no problem.

In addition the panels can be mounted in Landscape or Portrait, and where space is a limiting factor, then the panels can be placed one behind the other (like a sandwich) to take up the space of just a single panel.

Bunsen Controller

The Bunsen Air Controller allows a range of advanced settings to be selected to maximize the efficiency and convenience of this renewable hot water system.

The Bunsen Air is designed to replace your existing hot water heating system. It is not designed just to contribute, but to allow you to turn off your existing boiler, and let the Bunsen Air take over.

Accordingly there are a number of additional features which allow you to boost performance.

Fully Automatic

There are a few options to your hot water heating choices

Fully Automatic

Single Target

Temperature

You select a target temperature for your hot water, and each time the Bunsen Air detects a drop in your cylinder temperature of 5 degrees, it will heat your hot water back to temperature.

Fully Automatic

Multiple Target

Temperatures

You can choose up to 3 different target temperatures for 3 periods of the day. So you can priorities daytime heating to fully heat your cylinder (great option if you have solar pv), and then have lower for the evening, and another for night-time when you are not using the hot water.

Anti-Legionella

Disinfection

Once a week (you can select the time and day) the system will heat your cylinder to 60 degrees to protect against Legionella disease.

Boost Functions

If you choose to have your immersion wired into the Bunsen Unit,

then you can program some Boost functions:

Daily

Boost

You can set a lower Boost temperature and have it pre-set for a time of the day. If during this time your temperature drops below the boost temperature them both the Bunsen and immersion will work to recover the temperature, once the lower Boost temperature is achieved it will stop the immersion and just continue to heat using the Bunsen Air. If you don’t drop below the Boost temperature it will not call on the immersion.

Anti-Legionella

Boost

If the immersion is connected it will use both the immersion and the Bunsen Air to reach the 60 degrees temperature (if no immersion then the Bunsen will run on its own).

Single

Boost

This will use both the immersion and the Bunsen unit to recover heat to your target temperature.

The Controller allows you to either have the system on default settings, or to program some preferences according to your requirements.
